Purpose:

  • To deliver services to members in such a manner that meets the following service goals:

The ideal candidates must meet the following requirements or be able to meet them within a specified period.

  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have CPR/First Aid Certificate
  • Must have prevention and support training
  • Must have Article 9 training
  • Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card and pass an extensive criminal background check
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills preferred
  • Preferably have reliable transportation
  • Minimum age: 18 years or older
  • Preferably have experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities

Qualification:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have a desire to care for and assist members with activities of daily living.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and practice basic problem-solving skills
  • Must complete all necessary training programs and successfully pass associated tests prior to service delivery. This includes, but not limited to, CPR, first aid, Article 9, Article 8, prevention and support
  • Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing with members, families, and staff.
  • Must pass a background check and fingerprint clearance

Paid Holiday

Desert Harmony Care designate seven holidays each year that qualify for premium pay. Premium pay holidays are New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King Day; Memorial Day, Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Non-exempt employees who work on the actual holiday will be paid at the premium rate of one and one-half (1.5) times the base pay rate for all hours worked on the actual holiday, i.e., 12:00 am to 11:59 pm

Vacation & Sick Days

Full-time employees, after 90 days of consecutive employment with DHC will be eligible for PTO and Sick Time.

Part-time employees, after 90 days of consecutive employment with DHC will be eligible for Sick time only.
